Level 1
$350/month
Medication assistance; verbal cues and reminders; routine orientation; and limited setup. Residents at this level are otherwise largely independent with personal care and mobility.
Levels of Care
Every resident is different. Saddlebrook uses levels of care to match a resident’s routine assistance needs with a clear, understandable monthly care package.
The level of care is separate from monthly apartment rent and reflects the assistance our team is expected to provide. Care-level fees cover individualized assistance beyond routine community services.

Packages build together
Packages are cumulative. The assigned level generally reflects the resident’s highest routine assistance need and how often assistance is required. For example, a resident who needs reminders plus routine one-person toileting assistance would generally be Level 3.
Understanding routine needs
A need is generally considered routine when it is expected at least four days per week or expected to continue longer than 14 days. Short-term needs after an illness or hospitalization may be handled through a temporary care adjustment and reassessment.
These care-level fees are current and subject to confirmation. Final costs depend on the assessed level of care.
Thoughtful review, at every step
A nurse reviews physical assistance needs, medication needs, cognition, safety, behaviors, nighttime needs, and services provided by hospice, home health, family, or other providers.
The nurse identifies the highest routine assistance level and considers frequency or intensity that may require a higher package.
The services Saddlebrook will provide are written into the individualized service plan. Services performed entirely by an outside provider are not charged as Saddlebrook care.
The resident or their representative is informed of the assigned level, monthly fee, effective date, and the services supporting the determination.
The level is reviewed after significant changes and at regular intervals, and may increase or decrease as ongoing needs change.
Care planning together
Questions about a resident’s level of care are welcome and can be directed to the Saddlebrook nursing team or the Executive Director. Families are encouraged to participate in care planning.
